I am Erik Klaver — working as eeek in Castricum — and I focus on business photography and corporate headshots that connect humanity with professionalism. My background as a teacher and many years photographing people of all ages have taught me how to put subjects at ease. The result is business photography that doesn’t feel staged but looks natural and serious. My approach is simple: I start by listening. What does your organisation want to convey? What role do your employees play in that image? Together we decide on mood and location — at the office, outdoors in the familiar landscape around Castricum, or in a controlled setup with flash units for a more formal corporate look. I prefer natural light, but will use one, two or three flashes when that strengthens the professional appearance. As a business photographer I favour calm, direct images. For LinkedIn photos and corporate headshots I seek the balance between approachability and authority: posture, gaze and lighting that inspire confidence without becoming stiff. For staff photography I work with your team to create a relaxed atmosphere so even those who dislike having their picture taken are happy with the outcome. My way of working is accessible and personal. Subjects are welcome to share ideas about how they want to be photographed; I adjust and guide discreetly where needed. In the studio or on location I stay unobtrusive so the person’s character remains visible — that’s how the most honest corporate portraits emerge. Technique and light are tools, not the goal. I have studied lighting and continue to practise to achieve subtle, professional results — from clear business profile photos to nuanced black-and-white portraits when that suits your visual identity.
