As a specialist in corporate photography I (Michel Mees) combine journalistic sharpness with commercial usability. Based in The Hague, I work for organisations, public bodies and companies across the Netherlands — think Deloitte, Eurojust, the Ministry of Defence and TenneT — creating images that look professional while remaining human and persuasive. My background as a music photographer has shaped how I work: I move fast, think in moments and search for that unexpected, authentic image. That reportage-like style translates extremely well to corporate assignments: from executive portraits and LinkedIn photos to extended company reportages and congress or event photography. My photos need to “work” — they should tell something about the organisation, its people and its culture without distracting from the message. How I work: we start with a short intake to clarify your objective, tone of voice and intended use (website, annual report, social media). During the shoot I create a relaxed atmosphere so people feel at ease; often the best images appear when the camera is briefly forgotten. I usually work on location, but I can also set up a mobile studio at your office to produce a consistent set of profile pictures for teams and staff. Practical and goal-oriented: for management and board portraits I favour a clean, representative approach; for company reportages I look for atmosphere, detail and interaction between colleagues. At conferences and events I capture presentations, networking moments and the overall atmosphere with editorial coherence — images that are immediately usable for communications and reporting.
